John BergerFounder, Chairman and Chief Executive
OfficerJohn Berger is the Chairman,
Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Standard Renewable Energy. Prior
to Standard, Mr. Berger founded and was the Managing Partner of
Contango Capital Partners, LP, a venture capital firm. While
at Contango Capital Partners, Mr. Berger either invested in at an early
stage or founded nine renewable energy companies. This
experience has produced a track record that is amongst the best in the
nascent renewable energy industry. Mr.
Berger joined Enron in 1996 as an analyst for its East Power Trading
department and later became a division manager. Before leaving the
company for Harvard Business School in 2001, Mr. Berger was
instrumental in the development of a new Premium Power division, where
he developed corporate strategy for new energy technologies and
spearheaded development opportunities in renewable energy
technologies. In 2002 and 2003, Mr.
Berger served as an advisor to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
(FERC). Mr. Berger has more than thirteen years of
experience in the energy industry. Mr.
Berger graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University with a
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and earned an MBA from Harvard
Business School.
Rocky
WaiteChief Operating
OfficerMr. Waite brings more than 20
years of leadership and management experience to Standard Renewable
Energy. After completing a 21 year career in the U.S. Army, he served
as president and CEO of two HVAC distribution companies in Houston and
Dallas. Mr. Waite also served on the Distribution Management team for
Wal-Mart for five years. As the COO for
SRE, Mr. Waite is responsible for the operations, sales, and design and
engineering for all SRE office locations. Mr. Waite is a graduate of United States Military
Academy. He received a Masters Degree in Advanced Military Studies and
in Exercise Physiology.
Arvind SinhaChief
Information OfficerArvind Sinha brings
more than 20 years of mission-critical technology experience to
Standard Renewable Energy. His diverse experience includes robotics
design, derivatives trading, and securities trading floor technology
built on real-time integration middleware. He was previously with Xambala, an innovative fabless
semiconductor startup, producing acceleration solutions for streaming
application-oriented network processing. As Vice President of Business
Development at Xambala, he introduced the industry’s first hardware
solution for content acceleration at wire speeds to top-tier global
financial institutions. Mr. Sinha is also the founder and managing
principal at Rais Associates, Inc., in Cupertino, where he offers
technology and strategic consulting for enterprise software
companies. Mr. Sinha had previously
spent over eight years with Teknekron Software Systems, through its
acquisition by Reuters, Inc. and held various positions at Tibco and
Tibco Finance Technology as he relocated from New York, NY to the
company headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. He left in 2002 as Senior Vice
President of Internet Strategy at TIBCO Finance Technology /
Reuters. Mr. Sinha funded his entire
higher education through competitive merit scholarships and holds a MBA
with Distinction from the University of Hawaii (Fujitsu Scholar), and a
M.S. in Engineering from Odessa, Ukraine.
Glen Mayer Chief
Financial OfficerAs SRE's Chief
Financial Officer, Glen Mayer will be responsible for the financial
operations in all of SRE's markets including Houston, Austin,
Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, Phoenix, Denver and Miramar
Beach. Prior to joining SRE, Mayer was the CFO for
Joerns Healthcare, a private equity-backed manufacturer and service
provider to the long-term care industry with operations in the U.S.,
Europe and Canada. In this role, he was responsible for all
financial functions, including consolidated financial reporting,
treasury, internal controls, financial analysis, as well as business
planning and acquisitions. His experience also
includes leadership positions with Wausau Paper, Infilco Degremont, and
PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mayer received his Masters
of Business Administration from The University of Chicago Booth School
of Business and an undergraduate degree in accounting from Western
Illinois University. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) in the
state of Illinois.
Chris
Boyer, Ph.D.Chief Technology
OfficerChris Boyer has over 14 years
experience in project management, research and development, system
design and new product implementation of alternative energy
technologies including: solar, biofuels, clean fuels and fuel
cells. Prior to SRE, Dr. Boyer was a
process development leader at Chemical Research & Licensing
(CR&L), a division of Shell Global Solutions, who developed new
chemical plant processes ranging over a broad array of chemistries from
selective hydrogenation to biodiesel. In his role he was responsible
for screening new chemistries and processes for technical and economic
viability, managing potential candidates through pilot plant testing,
providing technical sales support for successful technologies, and
directing the start-up and commissioning of first-of a kind plants
after construction. Dr. Boyer started
his career leading SBIR research projects at Lynntech, Inc., working
with the DOD, DOE, NIH and NASA to rapidly prototype fuel cell and
electrolyzer equipment; including the energy storage system for the
solar powered, high altitude, unmanned aerial vehicle,
Helios. Dr. Boyer holds several US
patents. He has served as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M
University and Texas Southern University where he taught courses on
Plant Economics, Fuel Cell Systems, and Energy Systems. Dr. Boyer holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from
Texas A&M University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in
the state of Texas. He is a NABCEP-certified solar PV installer, and is
Vice-President of the Houston chapter of the American Solar Energy
Society (ASES).
Brett
SailorsSenior Vice President,
SalesBrett Sailors has over 20 years
experience in sales and sales management roles within the building
products and the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
industries. Most recently, Mr. Sailors
was the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Operations at Comfort
Supply, a distributor of heating and air conditioning equipment and
supplies with 24 locations and annual revenues of $100 million. During
his tenure, the company achieved double-digit sales growth and garnered
significant earnings improvements. Mr. Sailors also has considerable
experience working with home builders, developing relationships and
launching innovative programs with top builders while working with both
Goodman Manufacturing and James Hardie Building
Products. He earned a Bachelor of
Science degree from Sam Houston State
University.
Jordan
FrugeSenior Vice President, Business
DevelopmentJordan Fruge was one of the
original founders of Standard Renewable Energy, LP. Prior to helping
launch SRE, Mr. Fruge served as a Regional Planner for Celanese,
working in Latin America, Europe and the United States. Mr. Fruge also
worked in operations management for a major distribution center for
McKesson Pharmaceutical. He has played an instrumental role in the
success of SRE by establishing relationships with key technology
suppliers, developing major markets, and launching new product
lines. Mr. Fruge has a Bachelor of
Science degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M
University.
Lawrence
DoudnaSenior Vice President,
OperationsWith more than 20 years of
operations experience in the energy industries, Lawrence Doudna serves
as Standard Renewable Energy’s Senior Vice President of Renewable
Energy Operations. Mr. Doudna’s expertise lies in implementing
strategic development for diverse operations both nationally and
internationally, strengthening employee and client relations and
increasing profitability. Previously,
Mr. Doudna was a founding member and worldwide manager at Global
Geophysical, a privately held company with a present net worth of more
than $400 million. During this time he provided the President and Chief
Operating Officer with aggressive strategies and tactical plans for
expansion and penetration into core market achieving $4 million per
month in revenue with a 50 percent profit after only five months of
operation. Prior to his time at Global
Geophysical, Mr. Doudna served Western Geophysical (presently Western
Geco, subdivision of Schlumberger) as a worldwide manager for nearly 20
years. During this time he managed the OBS product line. Mr. Doudna holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electronic
Engineering from Missouri Institute of
Technology.
Raymond B. Walker
IIISenior Vice President and General
CounselMr. Walker joined SRE in
February 2007, and has assisted SRE in its private offerings and in
managing the legal affairs relating to SRE’s business. Mr. Walker has
10 years of legal experience in a number of industries. He began his
career in 2000 with the law offices of Jenkens & Gilchrist,
P.C. and later joined Winstead, Sechrest & Minick P.C. in 2003.
His practice has consisted of public company securities offerings and
compliance, private and public company mergers and acquisitions, and
general corporate and partnership law for clients in the renewable
energy, energy, transportation, and healthcare
industries. Additionally, Mr. Walker
serves as SRE’s Senior Vice President, Government Affairs. As such, he
is SRE’s chief advisor for the development of government affairs
strategies involving local, state, and federal legislative and
regulatory agencies. During the 2008-2009 Texas Legislative Session, he
was instrumental in developing renewable energy and energy efficiency
policy for the State. Nationally, Mr. Walker contributes regularly on
federal energy legislation and climate initiatives. Mr. Walker is also
a founding member of the Distributed Renewable Energy Alliance (DREA),
a national coalition of renewable energy businesses supporting measures
that will help the U.S. realize job creation and economic development
through development of the renewable energy industry. Mr. Walker received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical
Science from Texas A&M University in 1997 and graduated cum
laude, receiving a juris doctorate, from Southern Methodist University,
Dedman School of Law in 2000. Mr. Walker is an active member of the
Texas Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, and the Texas
General Counsel Forum. He represents SRE in the Greater Houston
Partnership, and serves on the development council for Arms of Hope.
Chuck
PfluegerVice President,
MarketingChuck Pflueger has broad
experience in strategic marketing, advertising and brand management
with a specialty in strategic communications planning and
implementation. He has more than 25 years experience working in senior
marketing and brand management positions with multinational energy,
technology and start-up companies. Mr.
Pflueger has an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College and a Bachelor of Arts
from Cleveland State University.
Kim A. GoldbergVice
President, Administration and Human ResourcesKim Goldberg has over 25 years of experience as a legal
professional, including 15 years as a Senior Litigation Trial Paralegal
with the law firm of Winstead Sechrest & Minick in the
commercial business litigation section. Her experience includes a wide
variety of commercial litigation matters including subjects such as:
lender liability defense, antitrust, securities, bank stock financing,
litigation involving disputes involving financial institutions,
contract claims, debt collection, RICO claims, false advertising
claims, public utility regulation, foreclosures, real estate
developments and investments, construction, bankruptcy and insurance
disputes. Ms. Goldberg is a member of
the State Bar of Texas, Paralegal Division, the National Association of
Legal Assistants, and the Society of Human Resources
Management.
Robert J.
McPhersonArea Manager, Central
TexasRobert J. McPherson has over 25
year of experience leading product development and business operations
with high tech companies. He recently served as the COO for M3 Design,
a strategic product development consultancy in Austin, helping clients
develop product strategies and execute development
programs. Following the 2004 acquisition
of Visual Circuits by Focus Enhancements, Mr. McPherson served as COO
of the Systems Business. Prior, he was COO and VP of Engineering at
Visual Circuits where he rebuilt the product development capability,
launched several new products, and helped position the company for
sale. From 1995 to 2001, Mr. McPherson
was President of the US division of Plasmon in Minneapolis, a publicly
traded data storage company with headquarters in the UK. He led the
development of this business from minimal revenue to a $60M business
serving such notable customers as IBM and GE Medical. Between 1980 and 1995, Mr. McPherson held a variety of
engineering management positions in several Silicon Valley companies
including 6 years at Xerox Engineering Systems. Mr. McPherson holds a
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic
State University, San Luis Obispo,
California.
John
LewisArea Manager,
ColoradoAs Area Manager, Mr. Lewis is
responsible for the sales, operations and service divisions in the
Colorado region. Mr. Lewis brings more than 20 years of management
experience in residential and commercial construction industry to
SRE. Prior to his appointment to
Colorado Area Manager, Mr. Lewis served as SRE’s Colorado Operations
Manager. During this time he was responsible for the execution of all
Colorado projects, establishing and managing operational processes, and
overseeing project budgets, staffing, and scheduling. Mr.
Lewis has been directly involved with over 100 commercial and
residential solar installations and critical to the regions revenue
recognition. Prior to joining SRE, Mr.
Lewis was the director of construction for Foxcraft Homes. During this
time he managed the build out of 30-40 custom homes a
year. Mr. Lewis is a United States Army
Veteran.
James “Scooter”
FentonArea Manager, Northwest
FloridaMr. Fenton has over 35 years of
experience in the construction industry, with 30 of those years in
management positions. Prior to joining SRE, he served as Branch
Logistics Manager with G&L Marble. His earlier
experiences include: Chief Estimator/Operations Manager of Tri-State
Fabricators, LLC; VicePresident/General Manager of Marion Fabtech,
Inc.; Vice President Sales/Administration of RSC
Stairco. Mr. Fenton holds a degree in
Business Administration from Auburn University. He has served
as a local chapter board member of the American Subcontractors
Association, and he regularly participates in local area chambers of
commerce.
Les
StumpffArea Manager,
GeorgiaLes Stumpff joins SRE with 23 years
experience from the homebuilding industry. In his most recent
role as VP/Division Manager for a national homebuilder in Atlanta he
had responsibility for managing the daily operations and performance of
the division. That position, combined with his previous role
as Controller/CFO for the division, gave Mr. Stumpff extensive
experience in managing all aspects of the business, from strategic and
financial planning to land acquisition and development, product design,
cost estimating and purchasing, field operations, sales and marketing,
and managing capital. Prior to joining the national
builder Mr. Stumpff’s experience included four years with one of
Florida’s premier luxury homebuilders and, before that, four years in
the manufacturing and assembly of military and commercial printed
circuit boards. Mr. Stumpff is slated to be inducted
in January as 2010 President for the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders
Association. He is also active in the community through his
involvement with several charities and trade
organizations.
Danny De La
TorreArea Manager, North Texas
& OklahomaMr. De La Torre
brings more than 13 years experience in the HVAC/R and plumbing
business. He built two organizations from the ground up which grew into
enterprises with multi-million dollars in annual sales. Mr. De La Torre
has extensive knowledge and experience in personnel and operations
management in an entrepreneurial environment. Mr. De La Torre holds a Texas HVAC/R contractors
license and as well as numerous management, sales and technical
training certifications.
Bob
HaughtonArea Manager, Southeast
Texas & LouisianaMr. Haughton
brings more than 25 years of experience from the commercial and
residential construction industry. His expertise spans all forms of
residential homebuilding including multi-family, production building,
high-end custom construction as well as entrepreneurial capacity as
owner of a custom building company in Houston during most of the ‘90’s.
While fluent in all matters of development, Mr. Haughton spent the last
several years concentrating on high density developments and most
recently served as an Area Manager for a National Homebuilder, where he
was in charge of developing new product lines and organization of a new
division of high density projects. Mr.
Haughton has a BA from the University of Houston, majoring in
Architecture and holds certifications as a Registered Building
Designer, a licensed Realtor and is completing certification as a
Graduate Master Builder.

U.S.John Puma serves as the area
manager for SRE’s northeastern U.S. operations. Bringing more than 30
years of experience in the construction and telecommunications
industry, he specializes in the development new business
operations. Prior to joining SRE, Mr.
Puma, a seasoned entrepreneur, founded PM Video Corp. – AVIUS
Technologies, a full service national technology Consulting and
Operations - Contracting company that served the telecommunications,
cable TV, wireless pay TV, broadband, IT, security, home and building
automation, energy management industries and the consuming public for
25 years. This holding company and its subsidiaries completed 500,000
installations with seven branch operation offices from Boston through
Washington, DC, headquartered in New York City. Mr. Puma comes
to SRE most recently from another entrepreneurial effort ARIA, LLC as
Managing Member for this Energy Consulting and Real Estate Development
Company with a specific expertise in complex construction projects and
an expertise in Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation consulting. Mr. Puma holds
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management in Finance from the
State University of New York at Buffalo.
Paul RolandDirector
of Online MarketingPaul Roland brings
25 years of combined technology and online marketing experience to
Standard Renewable Energy. Mr. Roland is responsible for directing
SRE’s online web presence and engaging customers through search and
email marketing. Mr. Roland’s previous experience includes six years at
DMN3.com as Online Marketing Director, two years at T1 Design/Idea
Integration as Regional Vice President of Professional Services, and
nine years at Compaq Computer Corporation. At Compaq, Mr. Roland was on
the team that launched Compaq.com and developed ecommerce strategy for
the Enterprise Computing Division.
Nam DuongDirector of
Customer RelationsNam Duong comes from
a successful background within the financial banking and mortgage
industry. He has over six years of regional sales management
experience, responsible for a sales pipeline of over $20 million. He
brings unique expertise in wholesale, business to business, and retail
sales channels. Mr. Duong holds a
Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from
Baylor University.

and Government AccountsWith more than
20 years of general management and sales leadership experience, Phil
Johnson serves as Standard Renewable Energy’s Managing Director of
National and Government accounts. Mr. Johnson joins
SRE following a successful 23 year career with AT&T, where most
recently he served as Vice President directing an 8-state, $1.1B,
region for the company’s large-business sales segment.
